The focus of his research work at the local communication technology laboratory was on mobile receiver algorithms and stochastic modelling of the mobile transmission channel for communication systems with antenna arrays (smart antennas).
After finalizing his PhD thesis, Dr. Ralf Heddergott was several years with Siemens AG in a research and development department on the field of telecommunications. As part of his work, he was delegate at the GSM standardization body 3GPP-GERAN.
At Infineon AG, he worked as IP manager and was responsible for a large part of the patent portfolio in the field of semiconductor circuit technology and mobile communications. Furthermore, he dealt with IP generation, IP risk management, and IP exploitation.
His main areas of technical expertise are electronics, semiconductor technology, information technology, telecommunications, and wireless communications.
